Station 7: Adams Canyon
This is the second-newest firehouse in the department, which was completed in the spring of 2002. It is located at 3230 Adams Canyon Drive near the recycling center. This station houses five pieces of apparatus: one structural engine, one 3,000 gallon water tender, the best-equipped rescue apparatus in the department, one ambulance, and one brush (wildland) engine.
Station 7 has a meeting room, kitchen facilities, locker rooms, a physical fitness room, and the apparatus floor for its 14 volunteers. The building is 6,400 square feet and protects the residential and commercial areas of South Park, Rafter J, Melody Ranch, and South Highway 89, as well as any additional response needs throughout the county.
Station 7 is also unique in that it serves as the county’s training facility. It has the Watsabaugh training tower, named after past Fire Chiefs Thomas Watsabaugh and Willie Watsabaugh, as well as the Tepe burn building, named after former Captain Mike Tepe. The department has Station 7 to thank for the education of nearly every single one of its nearly 150 members.
