Station 4: Moran

Station 4: Moran

This Volunteer Fire Department was established in October of 1982 with the station being located at Moran Junction and Highway 26 near the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. 10 volunteers respond out of this fire house, and they protect the rural areas of Moran and the Buffalo Valley as well as any larger incidents in or north of town.

Moran is located 30 miles north of the town of Jackson in a mostly remote conservation district. Resources are limited which makes the work and staffing of this department critical to mitigating any risks to the population and environment in the surrounding area. This volunteer fire department responds to all emergencies requiring medical and fire responders from Towgothee Pass to Grand Teton National Park and all areas in between.

The building has an apparatus floor, a meeting room, and a storage room. This station is 1,900 square feet and houses four pieces of apparatus: a structural engine, a wildland engine, a 3,000 gallon water tender, and a rescue vehicle.
