Where are you from and how did you find your way to Jackson? I am from Vermont and moved to Jackson after college in 2016. 

In your own words, what is your role in the department? I am a volunteer firefighter and do whatever is needed to help on various calls. 

How long have you been a part of JH Fire/EMS? I have been with JH Fire/EMS for just over 4 years.

What made you want to join initially? I wanted to join because I enjoy working with professional teams on Fire/EMS work and I want to serve the community.

What are your current certifications? I am currently FF2, W-EMT, and Red Card certified.

What do you do for work? I own and operate a snow removal and landscape construction company in town.

What do you do in your free time? In my free time I enjoy spending time on the river and in the mountains.

Favorite part of volunteering? I enjoy working with the extremely talented team of people at Fire/EMS.

Most challenging aspect? The most challenging aspect is being able to make time between work, family, and the department.

What advice would you give new recruits? I would advise them to decide to make the department an important priority so that you will get out what you put into it.

Is there anything you wish you had known when starting? It is a larger time commitment than you might think, but that is good and you will learn more than you thought you would.

What is the most valuable trait for someone to have in this line of work? Being a cooperative team mate and focusing on getting the job done as a team.
