Station 1: Jackson
Station 1 is the department’s newest station. With its beautiful red bay doors, it is unmistakable as you drive down East Pearl Street in downtown Jackson. Originally built in 1961, this station employs 16 full-time firefighters as well as 18 volunteers and serves the core commercial areas of the Town of Jackson. It boasts an apparatus bay large enough to accommodate two ambulances, a structural engine, a wildland engine, our department’s only aerial ladder truck, a 3,000 gallon water tender, and a rescue vehicle. It has a dedicated training room, a bunker room for all of its members’ fire gear, a large commercial kitchen, a gym, 7 bedrooms, and a large communal work room.
